Dr. William Bruce Young grew up in Jasper, Alabama where he was active in the Boy Scouts and was a member of the swimming team and the tennis team. He graduated from Walker County High School.
Dr. Young completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his postgraduate studies at the University of Alabama, earning a D.M.D. degree. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Young completed a one-year general practice residency. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity.
Dr. Young has taken numerous courses in all phases of dentistry including pediatric, cosmetic, endodontic (root canal therapy), periodontal (gum treatment), dental implants, infection control and sterilization, and sedation dentistry. He received his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. The Academy of General Dentistry is an international organization of 35,000 general dentists. Earning the Mastership Award means completing more than 1100 hours of continuing education courses and passing a rigorous fellowship examination. The Academy is not a requirement, but a commitment to continuing dental education and to giving patients the best possible care.
Dr. Young is a member of the Hiram 42 Masonic Lodge and the Exchange Club of Jacksonville. Dr. Young’s hobbies include motorcycles, drumming, and aerobics.
